This is a special page.... our first meeting!
June 2005 Squadron Meeting

The first meeting of the River Bend Squadron was held June 4th, 2005
in a hangar at Wharton Airport. We had several warbirds arrive for the meeting....
Some CAF owned and several privately owned aircraft.
The community welcomed us well beyond our expectations!

                 After some good old camaraderie, the meeting started.
                 Col. Ron Fountain, Sqdn. leader introduced several local folks including Wharton's Airport
                 Director, David Allen who explained the plans for airport expansion. Glenn Erdelt, local EAA
                 Chapter 896 President welcomed us to the community.
                 Col. Linda Fountain, Finance Officer and PIO, updated us on news also.

After the meeting, we enjoyed a shrimp boil and a few got to fly!

We were even featured in the Wharton Journal-Spectator!
